Hola yogis! Just a quick note to let you know I'm beginning a series of videos on the spiritual Awakening process for my Tiktok channel. What is Awakening, you ask? It is the eventual product of all of our yoga practices and related spiritual work. Awakening involves a profound shift in a yogi's perception and experience of reality.

Awakening is a natural step in human evolution, but for most people it takes a million years (according to Yogananda and the Kriya yogis) and the accumulated experiences of many, many lifetimes. Only a tiny percentage of humans Awaken in any given generation, but if you're a dedicated, consistently practicing yogi, your chances of being one of them go way, way up. The ultimate effect of yoga is to accelerate us on the Path. Yogananda, in fact, called it "the airplane route to God."

There is a lot of misinformation around what Awakening looks and feels like, so my aim is to cut through some of the less helpful stuff and share with you what I know to be true based on my lived experience and work with others who are in the process of Awakening. It is a passage that is both thrilling and disorienting, deeply rewarding and deeply frustrating, at times a little terrifying. It is also the most sacred work any of us can do to help advance the awakening of humanity as a whole. When the Awakening process is finally complete, the Yogi is Enlightened.
