Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep," is a form of deep meditation in which we inhabit the dimension of awareness between sleep and waking. In this state we are able to access the subconscious and unconscious regions of the mind to enhance self-awareness, intention setting and learning. You may even fall asleep, but that's OK! Your consciousness remains receptive, even if your awareness is absent.
We practice yoga nidra while relaxing on our mats in Savasana, supported with props as desired. Wear very comfortable clothes, including warm socks (pro tip). I have some limited props available. Please bring a blanket as desired and any additional props or cushions you would like for physical support. (Similar to a restorative class -- many people enjoy an eye pillow, support under the head or neck, and block or bolster under the knees, and perhaps an extra blanket underneath.) The object is to make the body so comfortable we forget it exists.
